ATTENDANCE:
Arrival Time: Students should arrive to class 5 minutes prior to the start time in order to have shoes on and ready for class to begin. For combo classes shoes must be kept in the studio in a bag labeled with the students name so the shoe change can be quick with as little distraction as possible.
Class Attendance: Attendance is very important to the growth and development of each student. Learning and practicing dance technique is important to improvement. It is also important to learn the recital routine and placement in routine. Any student with 20% absenteeism will be subject for consideration in the recital routine. Any class with attendance of 2 or fewer kids will be cancelled and a make up class scheduled.
Make-up Policy: If you plan to miss a class or you have an unexpected illness, you have 30 calendar days to make up your class. You must email your preference of make-up classes to Melissa (melissa.sundancestudios@yahoo.com) in order to plan the date of your make-up. Make-up classes are a great way to try new genres of dance. So if your child wants to try something new, it is encouraged! Missed classes do not constitute a refund and cannot be added to result in a free or reduced tuition for future use.
TUITION:
Payment Type and Due Date: A debit or credit card is required to be on file as tuition is pulled from the card on file on the payment due date. The tuition due date is the 1st of every month. Any alternative payment types and/or payment due dates must be requested and approved prior to the 1st of the month. There is an additional $35 fee for alternative payment types (i.e. money orders). Failure to get the approval may result in a late fee.
Late Tuition Policy: ALL tuition, regardless of payment type, is due on the 1st of the month unless otherwise approved. All payments received after the 1st, or the approved on date, will be charged a $25 late fee. Tuition that is not received 15 days after the approved on date will receive an additional $25 fee. Balances left unpaid will result in student withdrawal until account has been paid in full. In order for payments to be funded by the first of each month, transactions are subject to be pending 48 hours in advance. Please be sure to all updated card info communicated prior to the 1st to avoid the late fee.
Cancellation of Classes/Removal from Auto-Pay: Student withdrawal from classes must be communicated two weeks prior to the 1st of the month, or the approved due date, to remove any student from auto-pay via email or in writing. If communication is received after the first of the month, or the approved due date, a refund of that month will not be given.
Family Discount: A 10% family discount is offered for family members on a single account. All family members must be deducted from the same credit/debit card in order to be eligible to receive the discount. The family discount does not apply to competition/performance teams or Zumba.
Merchant Fees: All transactions will include a $0.92 merchant processing fee.
Tuition Fees: Tuition is subject to change at the sole discretion of the Owner/Director of Sundance Studios, LLC.
CLASS/STUDIO:
Dance Schedule: The dance schedule is set during our August re-registration period. The schedule is set for the August through July dance year. Classes can be added and/or cancelled based on enrollment. Alternative classes will be offered for any of the cancelled classes.
Viewing Policy: Parents are not allowed in the studio during the class time. This is a distraction for all students. To ensure the best dance education, please remain in the lobby area.
Viewing Week: We will have a once quarter "viewing week". During this week you will be able to view into the studio. At all other times the curtains over the windows will be closed (24th St) and all parents will need to stay in the lobby behind the door (75th Ave). The dancers have been getting very distracted as they can see out the windows.
Late Pick Up Policy: Please make note of the class time and make sure you are at the studio to pick up your dancer 5 mins prior to that time. We do not always have the lobby staffed and the instructors need to be in the studio teaching the classes. Sundance Studios is not responsible for any child not picked up on time and therefore left unattended. In order to make class times at both studios it is imperative all parents pick up dancers on time. There will be a $10 charge for those that are consistently late.
Lost/Unattended Items: Sundance Studios is not responsible for any items or personal belongings lost or left at the studios. All dance shoes must be labeled with the dancers initials. All shoes look alike and can easily be mistakenly taken or placed into the wrong bag.
Photos and Videos: Throughout the year photos and videos are taken at the dance studios. If you do not want your child to be photographed or the photos to be used on our website or advertisements please notify us in writing.
RECITAL AND COSTUME POLICIES:
Recitals: Sundance Studios have recitals twice a year, one in January and one in July. Recitals are not mandatory. Recital dates will be provided roughly three months in advance. If you choose not to do the recital, we will need to be notified in writing at least two weeks prior to the costume fee pull date.
Recital Fee: There will be a recital fee that will be deducted from the account on file with the costume fees. This fee includes a DVD of the recital.
Costume Fees: Sundance Studios understands that dance clothes/costumes can be expense and we are very conscious of the costs. These costs are considered when choosing the costumes. Hip Hop costumes are more expensive and therefore the hip hop costume fee will be higher. Costume Fees will be deducted from the card on file on October 1st for the January recital and April 1st for the July recital.
Costumes Choices: All costumes are chosen at the sole digression of the Sundance Studio instructors. Costumes are chosen with the class theme/song choice in mind. Each student will have their measurements taken to ensure the right size. If their measurements are close to two sizes the parent/guardian will be consulted on what size to order.
Costume Return Policy: Sundance Studios has a no refund policy once the costume fees have been deducted from the account on file. If you need to exchange your costume for a different size there will be a $25 costume return fee. This includes a $10 restocking fee and a $15 return shipping fee.
